I love using Berserk on someone behind the enemy walls and it freaks the AI out so much that they usually just abandon the defenses and attack. There are so many little tricks that seem to help, I guess you just gotta keep playing and learning them all. But usually I reload the major battles and do them manually. Usually for big battles I do an auto battle first and see how bad they lose or sometimes they win without losses so I just continue. And tricky or dangerous ones I just manual and can usually win. I can generally tell if it is a battle I can win with auto, so I do that on easy battles. I don't think I'm at that point yet in AoW3 at least. ) or because the time investment is barely worth the experience I would get if I go on (as when I'm outclassed by the AIs by a large margin, and I didn't invested in RP enough to feel an incentive to try and battle until the end: moving capital, hidding. If it's more fun to try another start, I'm ready to avoid the few more painful hours of gaming that would be necessary to end a game that got boring for whatever reason (map is explored, leader combo is experienced "enough", subjective dominance is achieved. I don't need to win games, I need to play them. As I never autoplay battles, just reloading the last autosave can bring me an hour or more back in real time.įor the same reason, I may sometimes abandon a whole game. Before I reload, I always balance the time spent since the game was saved and the probable benefit from reloading. The game crashes every few hours for me, because of many mods and only 4 GB RAM I guess.
